Pickleball in Ogdensburg, New York

Ogdensburg has four free outdoor courts on the St. Lawrence waterfront at Morrisette Park and a single indoor court at Wadhams Hall just outside the city. Morrisette is the clear warm-weather choice; Wadhams supplies a bookable gym floor when North Country weather rules out outdoor play.

Where to Play Pickleball in Ogdensburg

Morrisette Park

2 Caroline Street, Ogdensburg, NY 13669

Morrisette Park has four outdoor asphalt courts with permanent pickleball lines and nets. The courts are free, sit beside the St. Lawrence River, and opened for the 2026 season on April 23. With four courts in one bank, this is Ogdensburg's best place for round-robin play and the likeliest location to meet other players in fair weather.

Wadhams Hall

6866 State Highway 37, Ogdensburg, NY 13669

Wadhams Hall has one indoor gym-floor court with lighting and a portable net. The retreat and conference center is about three miles from the city and makes the most practical winter or rain-day option for a prearranged group. Because it is a single multipurpose court rather than a public drop-in center, reserve a two-hour block directly with the facility.

Pickleball Lessons in Ogdensburg

The city does not publish a recurring municipal lesson series. Beginners can learn most efficiently by arranging a four-person group at Wadhams Hall, where a single court provides a controlled setting for instruction, or by joining experienced players at Morrisette during the outdoor season.

Players who want a private lesson can connect with a North Country instructor through the Coaches section.

Open Play and Tournaments

Morrisette Park is the center of Ogdensburg's informal outdoor play once the courts open in spring. Four permanent-net courts allow two full doubles matches and a waiting rotation without setting up equipment.

The Ogdensburg Free Academy Class of 2026 tournament is scheduled for August 29 with a 4 p.m. start. Entry is $40 per team, and brackets are split into beginner-intermediate and intermediate-advanced divisions. That two-level structure makes it the most accessible local competition for newer players as well as established teams.

Visitor Tips

Start at Morrisette Park during daylight in warm, dry weather. The courts are free and nets are already in place, so a paddle and outdoor ball are all that a visitor needs. The riverfront location can be windy even when downtown feels calm; lower, controlled shots hold up better than high lobs.

Wadhams Hall is the indoor fallback, but it works best for players who already have partners because there is only one court and no standing public drop-in block. Canadian visitors cross at the Ogdensburg-Prescott International Bridge just northeast of the city and should allow border-processing time before a scheduled game.
